What is Mustard Season?
These mustard flowers are planted between vineyard rows and their peak viewing is typically around February. We are starting to see the first glimpses of mustard season right now, and before we know it, the Napa Valley will be exploding with vibrant yellow mustard blooms.

History
Back in the 1700s when Spanish colonizers came over, they used mustard as a spice crop. Mustard replenishes the soil with nutrients and protects the vines from erosion and taking up extra groundwater during years with heavier rainfall. Their purpose serves much more than just a photo opt for Instagram!
While Harvest brings a lot of buzz and tourism, the spring season is often overlooked.
